Welcome to MGU of the West Insurance Services, Inc. Our web page is designed to provide you with information regarding the products & services available through, and underwritten by our company, as well as the opportunity to contact our staff through e-mail.

MGU of the West began operation in September 1996 as the exclusive Managing General Underwriter for Lincoln National Reassurance Corporation on the West Coast. Since beginning operation, MGUW has continued to expand our carrier & product portfolios. Today, MGUW underwrites & markets on behalf of 8 different insurers. In addition to traditional employer groups, MGUW provides product, underwriting & wholesale marketing services to several large employer associations & Joint Powers Authorities (JPA). Our “industry exclusive” arrangements has provided MGUW with both rate & product advantages over the competition.

The products offered through MGUW include group term life, AD&D, short & long term disability, medical stop-loss, fully insured pharmacy carve-out programs, as well as voluntary life & disability products. Additionally, through various preferential relationships, MGUW can provide third party administration, PPO & EPO networks, Utilization Review & Management Services, Pharmacy Benefit Plans, Centers of Excellence Products & COBRA compliance.

As a Managing General Underwriter our office has underwriting authority with several of our insurance carriers. As marketers & managing general agents, we have large volumes of business with our carriers, thereby offering you & your clients more aggressive underwriting as well as flexibility in plan design & success in underwriting that unique risk.
