MGU of the West began operation in September 1996 as the exclusive Managing General Underwriter for Lincoln National Reassurance Corporation on the West Coast. Since beginning operation, MGUW has continued to expand our carrier & product portfolios. In addition to traditional employer groups, MGUW provides product, underwriting & wholesale marketing services to several large employer associations & Joint Powers Authorities (JPA). Our “industry exclusive” arrangements has provided MGUW with both rate & product advantages over the competition.

The products offered through MGUW include group term life, AD&D, short & long term disability, medical stop-loss, fully insured pharmacy carve-out programs, as well as voluntary life & disability products. Additionally, through various preferential relationships, MGUW can provide third party administration, PPO & EPO networks, Utilization Review & Management Services, Pharmacy Benefit Plans, Centers of Excellence Products & COBRA compliance.
