The SCOPE program consists of two panels of employee benefit, human resource and risk management professionals. Each panel meets three times each year to share ideas, evaluate vendor performance and discuss solutions to the ever-changing employee benefit environment. Then once each year, the members come together for a retreat where they can communicate with other professionals on a statewide basis. Each SCOPE panel includes 10 professionals from the Healthcare, Education, Municipal and commercial employer sectors.
Although this Committee is organized by MGU of the West, its purpose is to establish effective communications between vendors, consultants and clients. The Committee’s focus is to conduct periodic surveys of employer groups; consultants and vendors to develop a common system for evaluating the services that benefits professional can expect to receive from in the delivery of their benefits providers. The Committee will publish the results of these surveys on a blind study basis. The intent of blind study reporting is to avoid injuring a specific vendor or consultant and yet to provide critical performance data back to those identified in the study. The results will be released to each vendor who has been evaluated, without providing the client name. The desire is for each vendor to evaluate their internal operations and service levels overall, which will produce valuable improved service to their client population.
How can a client participate? The Committee will select from a variety of databases available, the prospective clients. These clients will then be contacted through e-mail and traditional mail and asked to participate. The surveys will be completed on-line through a secure intranet system and password. Immediately upon completion of the survey period, the system will block any new access and begin the process of tallying the data. This information is then provided to the Committee members for review prior to the next meeting.
At each meeting the Committee will spend time reviewing and discussing the results and trends that develop.
The term of each Committee member is 2 years and no member can serve more than 2 terms without a break. To be considered for a position on this prestigious Committee, a prospective member must submit a resume’ and complete a survey, which can be requested by contacting MGU of the West management. |
